Oh Man!!

I think I forgot to mention - on our trip to Cincinnati...while looking in the Reds Team Shop (Hannah really thought she needed a Griffey Jr. jersey) - she got a tank top instead.....anyway while rummaging through the merchandise....which everything cost a million dollars there (am I rambling?) I DROPPED MY CAMERA! The batteries flew out, Hannah helped me in my mad scramble to put them back in and get the heck out of there with her tank top in tow.

Anyway, we walk towards the gate (in 90 degree weather sweating our butts off). I make the kids stop in front of the Great American Ballpark to take a picture of them. They are all posed and ready....sweating and grumbling. I hold the camera up and CAN'T SEE THEM THROUGH THE CAMERA! It's a black screen with a beautiful mark through it. I don't have another lense to look through so I have to take a blind picture of them. Yes the camera works, I just couldn't see what the heck I was taking.

On to the ballpark. We had great seats. Top row of the first level right behind the Reds dugout. When Griffey Jr. came out to hit, I was again blindly zooming in hoping to get that shot.

As you can see.....I DID IT!!!

This is a before shot - walking from where we parked - Logan was sooo ready to see the Reds.

Tom told me we should get a new camera but a better one. After talking to my Dad - I'm down to two options, but they are both expensive. This is so NOT the time of year to spend that kind of money.

But as you guys know, I'm done with school shopping, but still have fees to pay. Should I splurge?

The August Rush

OK.....I tell the little ones we'll get school supplies tonight. Logan is like...but I wanted to play kickball with the boys. So he decides it's ok if Mom picks them out for him! Imagine that! My 5th grader didn't care if I picked out his stuff. Think about it....I could have come home with Hannah Montana folders, High School Musical folders, pink pencils and a bright purple book bag!

But no.....good old Mom tried to think like a 5th grader. I bought bland folders and pencil case for him. Didn't want to embarrass the kid. He is so grown up already. I just can't believe it.

Now Hannah.....it took her FOREVER to figure out what crayon/pencil holder she wanted. I'm like.....I gotta get dog food lady, figure it out soon! Thank God we already have her bookbag or we'd still be there picking it out.

Then we head to the shoe department. For some dumb reason, Logan has to have gym shoes. I'm telling ya....Walmart's shoes are ugly! I decide forget it, when here comes Hannah hugging me while begging for Hannah Montana tennis shoes. OH COME ON!!! We already bought her tennis shoes for the school year. I am so Hannah Montana'd out!!!

So.....we're done, only have to get those stupid gym shoes for Logan. ARGH!!

One Thing Done

Today I took the kids to the Finish Line and got Logan school shoes, then off to Gap for jeans and t-shirts. He didn't need much, so his school clothes shopping is done!!

Of course there is still the school supplies......

Tonight we are meeting my parents for dinner. My mom is not well, and Dad has to take care of her. My Dad is in his early 70's, still pretty spry. But it is hard for him to see her decline. He called me the other day kind of down. We are going to Bob Evans....I love that place!!

Oh yea....the kids are off to their Dad's for the weekend. It's nice to get breaks now and then, but I end up missing them by Sunday. It's great for Tom and I to get alone time. We enjoy our "time off" weekends.

OK OK

Alright....I know I don't post much, a few people check and NOTHING! I just don't have anything to say. I mean if I had anything to say, I'd be on here typing it ok? When you don't have anything, you don't have anything. Nothing is nothing, nothing to say is nothing to say.

Did I say enough 8-)

I go back to work August 4. Doesn't that stink? It is so hard going back. From being laid back, sleeping in, laying at the pool all day, taking it easy to....scrambling answering questions, answering the phone, and trying to get school going. Geez I'm tired thinking of it. Plus Logan starts football and Hannah starts cheerleading the same day! Talk about a slam back to reality!!

It's been a summer of getting things done. I mean appointments and such for the kids. I still don't have school supplies bought, only have school shoes for one child, and need to buy clothes for another. AAAHHHH!! I usually have this done by now.

And how is everyone else?

Vacation

Tom and I took the kids down to Cincinnati this week. We visited the Beach Waterpark. It's getting a bit old and run down. They didn't have any of the newer slides, but the kids had fun on a few of them.

The next day we found a mall! That made Mom and Tom very happy!! The kids were impressed with how big it was. It even has an elevator (Logan). After the mall we went to Dave & Busters. Now that is a fun place! You order your meal, then buy a game card and play arcade games, eat, play more games, eat....you get the picture.....until you've used up your card. I'd love to go back.

Then the big game. The Reds played the New York Mets. It was so hot walking into the stadium (by the way, the new stadium is nice). But at least it was a night game. The Mets beat us though. I even think it was the longest regulation game in history. It took over 3 1/2 hours! Logan really likes the Reds and was very serious as he looked around and watched his favorite players. The kids had a good time there. They were impressed with the size of the field - not like it is on tv huh?

Jamboree

Our town had the Fireman's Jamboree last weekend. Hannah was in the parade representing the Cridersville Rams Cheerleaders. It was hot that day! But she marched with pride!

Her brothers were thrilled to be there too!

But hey at least they had fun later!

New Addition

Meet Scooter!!! For awhile, my daughter has been begging for another puppy. Then my older son started in. I know you are going WHAT???? We were done with dogs, or so we said...but cats just aren't the same as dogs. I love my kitties, but face it.....they aren't dogs. I ran into someone I know at the pool the other day. She asked me if I wanted a beagle puppy. It is a mutt - the perfect opportunity. My husband always says mutts are the best dogs, and he loves beagles.

This little guy and his sister were found in a garbage can in Lima, and my friend rescued them. Can you believe someone would do that? The poor things didn't have a chance till she came along. Isn't he cute?????

Now for the cats.....Butch is curious. Wants to play but bolts when Scooter pounches after him. As for Sunny......well the picture says it all.

Kids!!!

OK....this is embarrasing.....we had my son's ball team over for an end of season cookout. Now...keep in mind....these are 8-10 year olds. They were outside running around like little crazies, when my older son (15 1/2) decides to play along. He puts on this obnoxious helmet and runs around right with them. Isn't he purty???

We Made It

After much thought and packing - we headed up to Cedar Point Sunday. We stayed at the Hotel Breakers, right behind the park. It's right on the beach of Lake Erie....oh my what a beautiful lake that is....NOT!! We got up there around 3 p.m., walked around for awhile - then the first downpour hit. So we decide to eat - they have a TGIF's right there for all us hungry people.

We debated about going to the park - but didn't think it was worth $50 for 3 hours! Isn't that crazy! We did get in an hour early the next day since we stayed at the resort.

We were coaster crazies!! But ya know what? Coasters hurt! Stay away from the wood ones.....far far away! My tailbone hurts! I didn't notice this stuff when I was a kid...did you?

Then came the rain......AGAIN. But it just drizzled off an on. I was fine with my hooded sweatshirt, but poor Tom....his head and glasses kept getting wet. Should have worn a hoodie fella! The crowd was nill cause if it though. We about walked on all the rides.

On day 2 of the park, the sun was out all force. So were the crowds. We were laughing at the idiots RUNNING to get back to the best coasters. What....do they think the wait time will jump 2 hours if they walk? I had to hold myself back from sticking out a foot - trip them up a little.

It was so fun there! I've always loved CP. My body just doesn't like it to much anymore.

Hey at least I got to give Snoopy a nighty night hug the first night. He was so cute in his night shirt in the hotel lobby.
